Her Story-Description
This bicycle is smooth and rides very well. It now looks much different from when I saw it the first time in a dark old wine cellar of an old farm. Back then, when I saw it, I put my hands on my head: OMG! It was dirty full of black dry grease mixed with dust, damped there with on top old farmer dresses and tools. After I cleaned it a bit on the surface I realised the horizontal tube’s varnish had been abused quite badly and some part of the frame were covered with a strange substance. I didn’t and I still don’t know what it was. However I still saw life in this bicycle and I brought it home to undergo major rehabilitation program. It took me two weeks to go through every single piece of the bicycle, clean it, check it and reassemble all of them. It took me a particular long time to recover the frame and provide a basic treatment in order to keep it safe. I changed the seat post because it was too rundown to recover, and the brakes levers because one of the original “Universal” was broken. Eventually the bike turned out to run in a fantastic way and the person who will buy it will be pretty happy and lucky. Great bike for those vintage passionate who love the heart and the history of a vintage bike and like to see the scars in the bike. I didn’t change the tubular tyres that are old because I thought the buyer may wish to consider to change wheels all together with clinchers type.
LEGNANO is an Italian bicycle brand with a rich history, particularly in racing. Founded in 1902 by Emilio Bozzi in Legnano, near Milan.
Legnano bicycles gained prominence in the 1920s and 30s, with Alfredo Binda winning the Giro d’Italia five times on a Legnano. Gino Bartali’s victories (great duels with Coppi, which was riding a Bianchi bicycle), including his first Giro d’Italia win in 1936 and the 1948 Tour de France, further cemented the brand’s reputation.
